This layered up preppy look is the perfect compliment to my new wood watch from Jord! I am so lucky to be partnering with them on this post; isn’t this such a cool watch? Keep reading, because I’m also hosting a giveaway…and EVERYONE wins!
I had intended to shoot a Valentine’s Day outfit to post this week, but it has been way too frigid to allow for prancing around in a little pink dress. So today you’re getting a layered up look with jeans and a sweater. Sometimes it’s best to just accept what mother nature throws at you and say no to the open-toed heels.
Lately I’ve been really into layering a longer shirt under a shorter sweater. It makes such a nice contrast between the two fabrics and it feels put together but still casual, since the shirt tail is hanging out.
I’ve always had a major obsession with navy and white stripes, so this sweater is right up my alley. I love the looser fit at the bottom, rather than the traditional shape that is elasticated at the bottom. This feels more effortless and casual, even when paired with a button-down.
I love the pop of the emerald face of my watch against the navy sweater! I’ve never had a watch with a rectangular face, and I’m really into it. The shape feels so professional and crisp; I’m always a fan of throwing on a watch to pull an outfit together, and the colors and textures of this one are so special.
There’s something so interesting about a watch strap that is made entirely of wood. It’s so unique; I always get so many compliments and questions when I wear mine because so many people have never seen a wood watch before! I was worried that the wood would make the watch feel too chunky, but it’s actually the perfect size to make a statement without being bulky.
The watches are available in a huge variety of different sustainably sourced woods; and since wood has a natural grain, no two watches look the same, which I love. I think the color difference between the darker and lighter links of my watch is so cool! The main wood of my watch is “Zebrawood,” which is characterized by its zebra-like stripes. Another super cool option is the “Purpleheart” wood which is purple-pink, and the color occurs naturally! It would make such a cool statement that is so different from your typical metallic watch.
Ok so here’s the most exciting part: I’m hosting a giveaway with Jord!
