This week was spent dealing with a mouse crisis in my rental house (disgusting, but I’m trying to keep it real up in here, ya feel?) and studying nonstop for midterms (I totally wrote this post while I should have been studying. Priorities.) It hasn’t exactly been a fun one, but last night I hopped on a flight back home for my fall break week. I am so happy to be home with my family; I can’t wait to see my best friend and hit up all my favorite hometown shops! Here’s a rundown of the things that popped up on my radar this week:
One // Pumpkin Spice
I know, I know, I am such a typical girl. I can’t help myself, I genuinely really love anything pumpkin spice! Although I will say, it’s definitely the spice that tastes great, not the pumpkin itself. Either way, I’ve been eating pumpkin spice English muffins, pecan pumpkin oatmeal, or pumpkin spice toaster pastries for breakfast every single day (I went wild at Trader Joe’s last weekend).
p.s. how funny and cute is this? This is spot on me right now.
Two // Casey Neistat
I am so late to the bandwagon here. I’ve known who Casey is for a long time, but I was never really that interested in his videos. After seeing Carly’s vlog, I jumped over to his channel and started watching – and I haven’t been able to look away. Something about him is so charismatic and engaging, and the quality of his work is incredible. I’m not sure why I’m so intrigued by watching other people film their day to day lives, but something about it is really enjoyable, and Casey is without a doubt the best at it. I seriously cannot imagine posting videos every single day; that is an insane amount of work!
Three // J. Crew’s New “Rider” Bag
J. Crew’s new fall handbag release hit the nail right on the head, as usual. The mini version is only $98 (!!!) and it’s absolutely gorgeous. These remind me of an even more equestrian-inspired version of Chloe’s saddle bags…and they’re not $800. Love, love, love.
Ok, so I already wrote about this here, but I wore it every single day this week, so I thought it deserved another mention. This is the perfect shade of pinky-blush-nude; since starting to wear more autumn colors, I’ve felt that a lot of my pink lipsticks kind of clash with my outfit when I’m wearing red. This has been the answer; it’s pink, but just subdued enough to go with everything.
Five // Kind Bars
As I’ve mentioned here and here, I have a tendency to get hangry very, very easily. And it’s not pleasant for anyone. I’ve been obsessed with Kind’s “Nuts & Spices” bars lately; they’re so easy to throw in your bag and eat on the go, and since they’re full of nuts they’re a lot more filling than a regular granola bar. I especially love the flavors that don’t have chocolate on them; I’m just not always in the mood for chocolate, and I don’t like that pretty much every single granola bar seems to be chocolatey! My favorites are “Caramel Almond & Sea Salt” and “Maple Glazed Pecan & Sea Salt.” They’re both just perfectly salty-sweet; and obviously Kind bars are not full of processed crap like so many things are, which I also love!
