I don’t tend to repurchase products very often because I always want to try something new, but there are some products that just have no comparison. These are the items that I have bought again and again through the years, and fully intend to continue repurchasing forever. My life would feel a little less complete without each of these items, and I love them more than any normal person should love an inanimate object.
There is NO other liquid liner than the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in “Trooper.” This is the blackest, most precise liner I have ever used. Most liquid liners that come in the easy to use pen-style format have a felt tip. This liner, however, has individual brush hairs that keep the nib from ever getting bent and wonky with age. The brush allows you to create the most perfect, crisp line – winged liner has never, ever been easier. As an added bonus, the cap secures with a very reassuring click; this liner is not going to open in your makeup bag, leaving a scribbled mess and a dried-up, useless product in its wake.
Why would you ever pay for a high-end concealer when you can pick up the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer at your drugstore for $6? Your dark undereye circles will never be seen again. This formula is so creamy and high coverage, and can also be used to conceal blemishes and redness. I tend to sweep a generous amount across my undereyes and down the bridge of my nose, and then blend with a brush when I’m in a hurry or a beauty blender when I’m feeling ambitious. Either way, it blends in in about 2.5 seconds and with a bit of setting powder, stays looking flawless all day.Even though my skin is dry, for some reason my eyelids are oily as HECK. If I don’t use a good primer before applying eyeshadow, I’m in a creasy mess within the hour. I’ve tried several, but the one I will continue to purchase from now until forever is the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I don’t like the Urban Decay primer potion, it occasionally leaves a weird bumpy texture on the lids that ain’t hot. The Too Faced has never, ever steered me wrong; it keeps my shadows vibrant and in place all day long every single day of my life.
If you’re a nail polish addict like me, you absolutely need the Orly Bonder Rubberized Base Coat in your life. If you’ve ever tried to use a pale pink translucent nail polish after removing a deep, dark red, then you know the woes of stained, ugly nails. Unless, of course, you coated your nails with Orly Bonder before applying that gorgeous red – not a stain in sight. I don’t know the science behind the “rubberized” formula, but it seems to really make a difference in manicure longevity. I love this stuff, I seriously will never use another base coat. And even though I paint my nails at least once a week, a bottle of this seems to last a very, very long time.
Another nail favorite that I’ve been using for even longer than the Orly base coat is the Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Top Coat. This stuff is an absolute classic. I’ve tried so many different top coats, including everyone’s favorite, Seche Vite, and nothing else is a shiny and rock hard at such a great price (Seche Vite freaks me out because of its supposedly carcinogenic ingredients, and it smells SO bad).
