Fall Preview

fall-preview-1Long time, no blog! This week I officially moved into my house for my senior year of college – I don’t know how I’m this close to adulthood, but it’s pretty terrifying. I’m sharing a big house with three of my best friends, and my boyfriend lives right across the street, so it should be a really awesome last year of fun before real life sets in.

It has been CRAZY hot here, and of course the new house doesn’t have central air conditioning. I feel like I’m going to melt every time I step out of my room (I have a window unit, thank GOD). Fall seriously cannot come soon enough. Controversially, I’ve always really hated summer. When I was really young I missed seeing my school friends every day, and once I was old enough I started working full time every summer; plus it’s just so freaking hot and miserable! Fall is my favorite, and more than ever before I am dying for cooler temps to arrive ASAP.

What would cooler temperatures be without fall beauty items though, am I right? Nothing brings me more joy than switching up my clothing in the Autumn, and starting to paint my nails with the deepest, richest colors (although you’ll probably find me wearing these colors all summer too). I picked up a couple new items that I am SO excited to whip out once they’re a bit more seasonally appropriate!

China Glaze “Prey Tell” is a really dark purple that almost looks black. It’s such a classic color for fall and winter, and it’s gorgeous on short, well-manicured nails.

OPI “Malaga Wine” is a pinky-red berry color that is absolutely gorgeous.

Essie “Angora Cardi” is a fave from last fall; it walks the line between a neutral and a purpley-pink.

Maybelline “Rebel Pink” is a lipstick from their loaded bolds collection. It’s a really deep hot pink and it’s the most comfortable matte lip color I’ve ever worn. You honestly can’t even feel that you’re wearing anything, it’s not even a tiny bit drying!

Essence “Wear Berries!” is a really purpley berry color lipstick that’s just about as purple as I can go without looking crazy. (Essence lipsticks are really nice and moisturizing, and they’re only $3!!)

NYX “Stockholm” Soft Matte Lip Cream is absolutely everywhere right now. Browny-nude matte lips are so on trend right now, and this one is really comfortable to wear (although it doesn’t have a huge amount of staying power).
