When it comes to beauty, I’m always searching for the next best thing. These four changes to my beauty routine have genuinely changed my life since I started doing them regularly, and I hope you’ll feel the same if you try them out!
I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t obsessed with makeup and beauty. At the age of five, I got this amazing play makeup set that I carried everywhere with me in my blue crochet purse (I actually still have it in my parents’ basement, it’s way too precious to part with). There were plastic lipsticks and eyeshadows, a sparkly purple pretend hair dryer, and a whole lot of other awesome things that I was seriously in love with. After that, I recall a time in fifth grade when I emptied out my pencil pouch at school to discover that al0ng with my actual school supplies, it also held about seven different flavors of Lip Smackers gloss (watermelon was THE BOMB).
Long time, no blog! This week I officially moved into my house for my senior year of college – I don’t know how I’m this close to adulthood, but it’s pretty terrifying. I’m sharing a big house with three of my best friends, and my boyfriend lives right across the street, so it should be a really awesome last year of fun before real life sets in.
It has been CRAZY hot here, and of course the new house doesn’t have central air conditioning. I feel like I’m going to melt every time I step out of my room (I have a window unit, thank GOD). Fall seriously cannot come soon enough. Controversially, I’ve always really hated summer. When I was really young I missed seeing my school friends every day, and once I was old enough I started working full time every summer; plus it’s just so freaking hot and miserable! Fall is my favorite, and more than ever before I am dying for cooler temps to arrive ASAP.
What would cooler temperatures be without fall beauty items though, am I right? Nothing brings me more joy than switching up my clothing in the Autumn, and starting to paint my nails with the deepest, richest colors (although you’ll probably find me wearing these colors all summer too). I picked up a couple new items that I am SO excited to whip out once they’re a bit more seasonally appropriate!
I recently gave in to the hype and picked up a few brushes from Morphe. I’ve been trying to recreate amazing cut crease tutorials on YouTube, and I couldn’t get the look right no matter how many times I practiced. I finally determined that I just didn’t have the right eye brushes necessary for that kind of precision work, and decided to pick up a few more affordable brushes for my collection.
